Happy New Year! Here’s an update on what is going on…
Our 16th Winter Festival will be Saturday February 7th, 12-3 at Clarke Park. Please come down to support the work of the association, beat the winter blues, and appreciate the beauty of New England in Winter. We’ll have pony rides, hot food, a fire with smores, kids games with prizes, and tug of war and a pie eating contest. Bring your skates, skiis, the dog (on a leash please) and spend a few hours outdoors. Help support the cause with a purchase of raffle tickets for prizes donated by local businesses.
We are still in the midst of our shoreline restoration grant , thanks to the great work of all involved, are more than half way completed. 8 out of 12 shorelines were restored with native plantings and erosion controls and the Town installed a sediment reducing hydrodynamic separator at the outfall near the boat ramp.
The Crime-Watch group is up and running and will be working on establishing enforceable speed limits around the pond. We have met with Police several times and have gained a great understanding of what they do, and what we can do to make our neighborhood safer. I think the bottom line is when something is not right call-the-police. Detective Tom Romeo and Lieutenant Kevin Brennan have made it clear that they want all of our help and input, and do not be afraid to call the police if anything seems out of the ordinary.
We are looking into adding play equipment next year, hope to get irrigation up and running to create flower gardens, and extend the dock.
To find out more, come to the Winter Festival!
