Bring your rod and reel to the 20th Annual Children’s Fishing Derby on June 24. Sponsored by the Wildside Bass Club and the Martin’s Pond Association, this annual event is a favorite with all our young anglers! Children ages 3-16 can enter–registration begins at 8am. On Wednesday, May 31, 2017 Martin’s Pond will be treated for watermilfoil and fanwort. Both are highly aggressive invasive plants that can quickly overtake small lakes and ponds. If not controlled, milfoil and fanwort can have damaging effects on natural wildlife, vegetation and recreational activities as they will continue to grow at a very rapid pace. Martin’s Pond Community Pride Scholarship The Martin’s Pond Association is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior from the Martin’s Pond neighborhood in North Reading towards the pursuit of college or trade school. In the spirit of community pride, neighbors fully funded this award. The scholarship will be awarded based on a submitted essay. The Haunted Hornet Halloween event October 15 will not be held at Clarke Park–it will be at the Batchelder School in the center of town. Shuttles will run from the parking at the Middle/High school. Watch the Friends of Hornet Productions site for more details!
Martins Pond Association is delighted to announce that Halloween festivities will take place again in Clarke Park this October. Friends of Hornet Productions will present Haunted Hornet Halloween on Saturday October 15th. Friends of Hornet Productions is the booster organization focused on supporting and promoting the performing, visual and technical arts at the North Reading Middle School.
