WATERMILFOIL AND FANWORT TREATMENT FOR MARTIN’S POND ON MAY 31ST

On Wednesday, May 31, 2017 Martin’s Pond will be treated for watermilfoil and fanwort.  Both are highly aggressive invasive plants that can quickly overtake small lakes and ponds.  If not controlled, milfoil and fanwort can have damaging effects on natural wildlife, vegetation and recreational activities as they will continue to grow at a very rapid pace.  SOLitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury, MA has been retained to respond to this invasive plant infestation.  Please note the following important information regarding this

Martin’s Pond Community Pride Scholarship The Martin’s Pond Association is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior from the Martin’s Pond neighborhood in North Reading towards the pursuit of college or trade school.  In the spirit of community pride, neighbors fully funded this award.   The scholarship will be awarded based on a submitted essay.  Essays will be judged based on honesty, integrity, thoughtfulness, respect for the environment, and neighborhood pride.
