Today Scott Ronco & I was lucky enough to go flying with Nancy and Peter Zawistowski. We flew over the Pond, Boston Flower Market, Benevento’s and Town Center. There’s still a lot of water out there and its very obvious from the air that Benevento’s road isn’t helping anything. If you’re interested in the pictures I took, I’ve posted them in Flickr. The Salvation Army in Lawrence (250 Haverhill St) will have some clean up kits Thurs 3/18. They’re open M-F 9-4. 978-682-8038 if you have to reach them–ask for Capt. Campbell. Also MEMA and the Red Cross are planning to distribute clean up supplies in the area–probably at Home Depot–more info coming soon–you can call them at 617-274-5200.

2 main causes: Rt. 62 bridge, culvert and raised roadway at Benevento’s. The bridge is our main problem, Benevento’s filling the road adds to the problem. That filling was recent, (2004) which is why we can get it reversed. Extreme caution should be used on entering and exiting the roadway, and only right hand turns onto 125 are allowed.
